Whilst the M400 is the obvious ‘just over GBP100’ choice for running then the M450 is the mostly obvious choice for cycling at the same price bracket…GBP120. Bargain…
Perfect choice if you want a dedicated cycling computer either to race with or to train with in addition to a wrist based device.
If Garmin slightly overprice their stuff and Polar slightly under price their stuff then you merely have to engage the credit card rather than the brain.
You’ll probably also get a lot LESS bugs for your money with Polar than some other vendors. I kinda like that.
I’ve just forked out GBP100 on a Garmin HRM-TRI heart rate monitor…eesh. I could have got a whole cycling computer for that price (plus a round of beers).
So long as you haven’t invested in an ANT+ power meter, the cost of all the Bluetooth stuff that the Polar might find handy will be fairly trivial to buy. Let’s face it, if you had a power meter then generally you wouldn’t be looking for a cycling computer at this price point.
