Jabra Elite Active 75t – What’s Changed? What’s New?
Jabra have newer versions of their older Elite 65t and Elite ACTIVE 65t models – these are Elite 75t and the Elite ACTIVE 75t.
- Audio performance is the same across all 4 of these models. It’s the same audio codecs and the same driver (speaker). They sound the same, they are audibly the same.
- The ACTIVE version is the sporty version and that means it is more sweat/dust resistant and has a different coating which aids grip. ‘Naturally’, it’s slightly more expensive and there are also more colours (6 vs 3)
- 75t vs 65t –
- 75t – 7.5 hours charge in the earbud and up to 20.5 (=28 hours) more hours with the USB-C carry case. The new case IS smaller (62.4 x 36.6 x 27.0 mm, 35g) and the new buds ARE smaller (21.9 x 19.4 x 16.2 mm) and slightly lighter at 5.5g each. The 75t also has magnets inside the earbuds which nicely encourage the two buds to stick together when not in use.
- 65t – 5 hours charge in the earbud and up to 10 (=15 hours) more hours with the USB-B carry case. Case (67g) and earbuds @6.5g right, 5.8g left.

To be clear: I’ve used the 65t for HUNDREDS of hours and the 75t for 10s of hours. These are GREAT SPORT EARBUDS.

Review Summary
Excellent sound for truly wireless earbuds that stay put during sport
The Jabra Elite Active 75t earbuds reviewed here sound great. My personal preference eventually became to up the bass slightly and then disable the Hear-through feature, so I was oblivious to the sounds around me as I ran. If I chose a sensible position for the music source then I never had any dropout issues.
They also look great and fit exceptionally well. In my case, they never accidentally came out even during the fastest interval run or my longest 14-mile distance extravaganza and they remained comfortable for two hours of running. A slight criticism here would be when replacing them back in your ears, because they are more rounded than the previous 65t it can be difficult to FEEL which way they should be inserted.
From a practical perspective, I’ve paired them up to Spotify & Google Play Music via my phone and Amazon Music via my Garmin music-sports watch. At the same time, the 7.5- to 28-hour battery life is excellent and that statistic includes two welcome power boosts from the charging case. There is not much that you have to do with them on an ongoing basis except put them in your ears and enjoy the sound – there are some features on the Sound+ app but you can easily live and listen to music without any of them.
These are my go-to earbuds and I use them regularly. The only reason I prefer them to the previous 65t is the much-improved battery life, I actually prefer the shape of the earlier 65t. I guess you can take that as a recommendation for either the 65t or 75t!

- You might need to wear your smartphone/sports watch on your right wrist to avoid dropouts
- No HD audio but NO sports watch can play at that quality yet, so it’s only relevant if you use a high-quality smartphone CODEC as the source (+ other factors)

I’ll just add a few minor comments against some of the images here
Storage Case-cum-Battery Pack
The new (blue) charging case really is smaller despite the SUPERIOR battery life that is stored in it. It also takes a USB-C cable
It’s designed well and the earbuds are sucked into position by magnets before you close the lid.
Music Playback
I had no problems with playback that was linked to the Jabra. However, I did have some issues when pairing to the Garmin 945. If more than one earbud set was paired to the 945 then it often got confused and even told me it was using the one that it wasn’t. Once you get out of range of the other earbud set all is OK. The 945 has problems pairing with some earbuds and sometimes inexplicably only pairs to one earbud. If you reboot the Garmin and put the earbuds back in the case and start over, then all is good.
As with many other watches, when running it’s best to wear them on your RIGHT WRIST as the receiver on earbuds seems to be on the right side (or stronger on the right side).
Active 75t vs the 65t
You can see the the ‘blob’ that goes in your ear is a different shape on the 75t compared to the 65t – that’s neither here nor there but I’m just pointing it out.
And you can see the 75t is slightly duller in colour, I’m guessing this is the non-slip coating of the active version (I have the 65t as both ACTIVE and non-ACTIVE versions)
My only real gripe is with the microphone bit. You can see that it is MUCH more pointy on the 65. Most people will probably like the smaller 75t but actually I liked the pointy bit as it really helped me to correctly align the 65t in my ear. Before you start off this isn’t an issue but if you take them out to chat to someone en-route and it’s cold, then putting them back in becomes more fiddly #MinorThing.
FWIW I use the non-ACTIVE 65t a lot for sport and it’s fine (in fact I use it more for sport than my ACTIVE 65t version)

One question.
I love my Elite Active 65t, but I was strongly disappointed of it’s lack of noise cancellation in calls, when you are in noisy environment. I.e. you just can’t use it for calls if you and not in quiet environment. So I have to have with me also Evolve 75t just for calls.
Is the situation with this better in the Elite 75t?
