ASICS Runkeeper Social Media Mini-Fail

On the face of it, this is a harmless tweet from ASICS Runkeeper. You can probably come up with some descriptive words around ‘community’ and ‘true runner’ or whatever.

Then you realise they’re copying a post from Nike the day before, probably in an attempt to out-Nike Nike. #NeverAGoodThing

Then you look at the interaction levels and it just becomes a bit embarrassing.#Fail. Being fair, I guess there are a lot more sneaker lovers than runners.

The links are clickable, so if you feel sorry for Runkeeper you know what to do.

I have some more Nike content coming out in the next 24 hours, nothing too exciting, and it might involve a sports watch. Maybe. (It will). I’m not a Nike fan by a long chalk but you have to admire the domination of running apps by themselves and adidas Runtastic, which I touched on here a while ago as we looked at some alternatives for those of you contemplating the demise of Endonmondo.
