No surprises here, what do you expect from a product that has been on the shelves for 15 years and still keps an above average rating on Amazon together with very high sales? Exactly, means it has good performance even compared to the current market standards. It’s the perfect tool for kneading a batch of dough and blending a dressing. To achieve faster results just unlock the mixer from its base (switching to hand mixer functionality). The mixer is powered by a 290W motor, enough to get the job done.
Features
Hamilton Beach 64650 is a standard mixer, nothing fancy to highlight, it does what is supposed to do. It features 6 speeds, from high to low, plus a QuickBurst button to get max efficiency in achieving a homogeneous dressing and dough. The bowl has a shift & stir function so you can properly get to every spot of the bowl, ensuring everything is blended right. The stainless steel bowl is 4 quarts (16 cups), enough to bake a big cake for the family. In terms of power, HB 64650 motor, as previously mentioned, peaks at 290W.
Material & Design
While we were surprised at the quality of the material, pratically all parts of the mixer are made of stainless steel, which is a very strong and anti-corrosive type of material, some parts of the design are faulty. We are talking about the fact you have to lift up the bowl to get the beaters to mix what is at the bottom of the bowl properly, if you don’t do it much of the ingredients will be stuck to the side. Although this isn’t a major design flaw, it still can be a little bit annoying for some people. The second design flaw is the intake slits not being adequately positioned in the right place, thus sucking in flour most of the time, which can lead to a horrible smell if you don’t pay attention to this issue. Overall, it’s a decent durable product for the long-term (if used ocasionally every week, if you need a mixer to sue every single day go for a b
A simple and easy to use product, as expected from a standard stand/hand mixer the learning curve is minimal, what you see is what you get, nothing fancy. Behaves like any other low-cost mixer. If you have any questions or doubts just drop a comment down below and we will be very happy to reply.
Throughout the years the price of this product has adapted to the market and its competition. At the time of this review the price tag is at $41.74. We believe this is a good deal, but if it goes lower than $30, it’s a must-buy. Remember, you are not paying for any fancy features, you are paying for good performance and decent durability.
